I'd married the love of my life, and we moved to this dinky town in Georgia. The town had some interesting abandoned buildings and kudzu fields and stuff, and I took pictures of them, but I still just wanted to move back to Colorado. Instead we moved to Texas, then Virginia, and along the way we acquired a daughter and several friends. All the time I kept wanting to go back to Colorado, but instead we went to Massachusetts! And all my friends were on the other end of a computer screen and we communicated by typing messages to each other, and I sat around a lot and occasionally went out to photograph more decaying buildings. And I was, like almost fifty years old and funny looking, and I complained all the time.
