Sarah was providing friction this morning, resisting each step forward in the routine. Finally, we were moving our act downstairs, with me carrying her, as per demand. I went into the kitchen to get her morning car food ready, and she sat down at the computer and commenced whaling at the keyboard. She had the user icon screen up, and I closed it so she wouldn't change anything. I got her Jello and started mixing pink milk. She had the icon screen up again, so I put the computer to sleep, and she went into full meltdown mode.
Cathy came down and asked what was going on. Sarah gave her account, and I gave mine. We got her into her Spider-Man jacket and down the front steps. She was still in a mood, though she smiled at me through the glass when I squeegeed her window. But that was temporary. She was still very sober as I bent to kiss her bye-bye. "I wanted to show you the animals," she said, looking me in the eye.
I apologized and told her we'd look at them this afternoon. I hugged her and waved as they left. She just wanted to show me the animals. I am a heel.
