Had a swell dinner with gerisullivan yesterday. Thanks for dropping over, Ger! Need to do that more often.

Last night I dreamt I was sitting with somebody having an actual grownup conversation. It was a depressingly wonderful dream. Not only did I get to sit and talk to somebody without being interrupted every time either of us had said four words, but the "old neighborhood" had been restored to its old aspect, without the hundreds of houses that now infest the fields and pastures between our back fence and the county landfill, just as if somebody had hit a Reset button that wiped out decades of so-called progress.

We'll be visiting my in-laws this weekend. There'll be lots of folks around. I expect I'll get to talk to somebody. Something to look forward to.
