bOINGbOING points to someone who has made a Flaming Carrot custome for Halloween.

Eh, it's not bad, but [livejournal.com profile] geckoman did it better about 15 years ago. I'm just sayin'. (Geck, do you have a photo of it, so we can show the world what a really good FC costume looks like?)

Not sure I understand quite -- the picture shown is partially completed (sections are yet to be colored). You'll see it when you click on "larger image" link. There's also a link to pictures (and a movie) of him burning it. Go figure.

Thanx to WFMU's Beware of the Blog again.

For all of us who can't get enough of A Christmas Story, here are some script pages for the missing "Ming the Merciless" scene, plus another Miss Shields sequence. If you click on the pages, you can see them at readable size -- this explains something I never noticed, namely that there are actor credits at the end of the movie for Flash Gordon and Ming the Merciless. I'll have to look next time! And if you click the "return to trivia page" link, well, there's more trivia. And here's a link to some bloopers from the movie, including those now-mysterious credits (but not mysterious to us, Eh, Reader?).

The page where I found all this, "Flick Lives," used to have all those hours of Shep shows online. They seem to be gone now, unless they're merely hidden where I can't find them. It's still a great clearinghouse for all things Shepherd.

Some time back, I had a problem that I once hit "caps lock" instead of "tab" and ended up with a new suggested entry that pops up every time I start typing my login here -- one which consists of my username, followed by my password, in all caps. People had various suggestions on how to get rid of it. Today, I did the same thing with bloglines, and got the same result. I went to Firefox's Tools, then Options, then Saved Forms, and hit "clear all" and the pesky things are gone. Along, I suppose with things like my library card number, which I'll have to re-enter next time I want to see what's overdue. Still worth it.

Do any of my Firefox-using friends know why Firefox keeps going ape on me? After a while, it gets unresponsive, and if I simply quit, I can't restart it without having to go to my Windows Task Manager to "end process." Sometimes even if it hasn't been screwy, I quit and the next time I try to start it, I have to do the same "end process." I'm on Firefox 1.5.0.7 now, and it's been doing it since before I upgraded to that, I'm pretty sure.
