how to alienate the press
Feb. 1st, 2007 02:08 pm.
The two guys who have been arrested for the "Teen Aqua Hunger Force" publicity stunt in Boston (which had blinkie things, so everybody thought they had to be deadly explosive devices)(when they finally noticed them after two weeks) aren't playing along.
I had MSNBC on this morning, and they interrupted their newscast to show the duo making a statement outside the courthouse. They wanted to get serious and talk about the topic of 70s hair styles, comparing the dreadlocks one wore to the more nondescript bangs look of the other.
Man, you never saw such hostile reporters. They weren't following the script! They didn't answer press questions, they just kept changing the topic back to hair. Reporters were upset. The talking head in the studio had to give her low opinion of them. "I'll bet their parents must be proud," she fumed.
No laff! Laff bad! Straighten those shoulders and look at me when I talk to you! I'm not saying they're model citizens, but the undisguised scorn they're getting from the press makes the fourth estate look even dumber than usual.
