So much for my idea of getting rich selling diapers to busy executives. Another money-making scheme shot down before I could move on it, so to speak. Thanks so much, Stephen!

She's dead. I didn't see that coming. Say what you will, she was a cheerful, overstated, zaftig, self-promoting gold-digger, and I'm sorry she's gone. I kind of liked her.

I just heard about it, because I turned on the TV to look at my tape of last night's "Countdown," and they were talking about it. Keith, to my immense relief, didn't bring out the bottom-feeding Michael Musto to slag her memory. He talked to someone with more gravitas from one of those entertainment shows or networks, and the guy compared her to Marilyn Monroe. I don't think that's quite right. Marilyn had undeniable talent. I think Jayne Mansfield is closer to the mark.

Either way, it's a pity. RIP.
