Cathy and Sarah and I voyaged to Wales (MA) to pay court to that Hugo-winning faned,
gerisullivan. We did some inadvertent sightseeing that only slowed us down a little before we arrived at tranquil Toad Woods. Almost immediately, we set up on the veranda for some delicious chicken salad (with a side of salmon sushi for some of us) and exotic sodas in clementine and pomegranate flavors. I took Geri's picture holding a soda bottle, which she was instructed to regard as a Hugo statuette. We can graft the rocket in later: this is a journalistic scoop that I couldn't pass up.
After we cleaned up, we went in to avoid the paparazzi... actually, the bees, who were confusing our lunch with theirs. Probably some bee somewhere committed a typo while dancing. We retired to the living room to admire the furniture and watch "Stitch" on the video. When that ended, we proceeded to the basement to play our host's Japanese slot machine a couple of times, and then we drove home to let her get some work done.
Sarah, for some reason, was extra bratty on the trip. I ended up taking away her TV viewing for the rest of the day, which made her incredibly, loudly sad. After we were home, she explained tearfully that the computer was boring, reading books was boring, she was bored, and she wanted to watch TV to learn stuff. There wasn't much day left anyway, so I remained obdurate. Cathy ended up going over to Brett & Raisa's with her, which I guess wasn't too boring.
In an unrelated story, my tennis shoes, which I bought back in May, are already turning to junk. I liked how they looked, but the inside has been deteriorating for quite a while, and now there's a hole on the bottom of one of them. Rocket Dog -- not the longest lasting shoes I've ever owned.
Anyway, it's time for me to turn in. Sorry, no picture tonight.
Update: photo inside
( it's kind of big, to show detail )
