Sarah surprised me last night with a new dodge at bedtime. Cathy and I were trying to get her to commit to sitting with one of us for a little while or going right to bed. Sarah's response was to pore minutely over the rubber surface of her step stool, rubbing it with a finger (slight squeak? don't recall) and murmuring, "This means something."
It does indeed, Sarah. It means we won't be serving mashed potatoes any time soon.
