NASA scientists now apparently have an overlord to tell them what's science and what's not. His name is George Deutsch, and the new NASA press officer is a 24-year-old Bush appointee. From the intrepid researchers at World O'Crap, we find samples of his previous writings that shed light on why he's the right man for the job of riding herd on them eggheads.
For instance, Laci Peterson could have been murdered by Satanists! Al-Qaeda very likely had important connections with Saddam Hussein! Since Rumsfeld didn't personally order soldiers to pile naked inmates in a pyramid at Abu Ghraib, that proves that they did so solely on their own initiative!! (Somebody get me some more exclamation points, please.) And, of course, it's all the fault of that darn liberal media that never reports anything important about our huge successes in Iraq!!!
As the blog succinctly sums up, "See, the important thing is that the liberal press isn't telling the truth, 'truth' being whatever the President wants it to say. And sometimes scientists don't tell the 'truth' either. And that's why we need Presidentially-appointed public affairs officers. And if they are young Bush supporters from Texas, that's all the better." My thanks to the researchers at WoC who fearlessly wade into this sort of muck to find out what all these leading intellectuals of the "conservative" movement are actually saying.
