Today, I succumb to a meme.
Take a picture of yourself right now. Don’t change your clothes. Don’t fix your hair. Just take a picture. Post that picture with no editing. (Except maybe to get the image size down to something reasonable. Don’t go posting an eight megapixel image.) Include these instructions.
IMG_5162

And behind the cut, the picture with minimal editing for color balance:

The bigger versions (suitable for printing, framing, and treasuring forever) are at my flickr page. Tell me if that breaks your friends page. Or your monitor. If I hear bad things, I'll hide it behind a cut, as the good lord probably intended.

If I'd been planning it, I'd have had to turn on the lava lamp about an hour before. Shame on me for not having it on anyway.

This second one looks really grainy!

They both are (not surprising, as they are the same photo). Low light, and I didn't do any smoothing. I like the second one because it has some detail in it, and I look less bloated.

Maybe both could have gone behind the cut? Not for the content of the photo, of course, but because its width breaks my friends page.

Fixed and noted for future reference.

I think you've lost weight since the last time I saw a picture of you!

Hm, I wish I could say that was true. I feel like I'm losing the battle. Back to taking walks. I already mow part of the lawn most days, because I feel like that's walking plus pushing a resistant concatenation of rattly parts. Last night Sarah actually felt like going to the pool again for the first time in a while. I hope we can go more often.

Wow, you wear the same kind of glasses my dad does. Which at that angle also make you resemble Don Messick ever so slightly (it may be the way you have your lips pursed, as if on the verge of saying "Mr. Ranger isn't gonna like this" into a mic.)

[identity profile] kip-w.livejournal.com 2008-09-23 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
My philosophy of glasses is 'more lens, less frame.' My lips were pursed as if thinking about smiling but not wanting to look as sappy as that would make me look (yet avoiding the somewhat hostile appearance that is my face in repose -- tough balancing act, that).

Great photo!

I really liked this one. I wish I could remember the angle I approached the lens from and everything, so that some day I might take another good photo.
