Well, my birthday is really close to Christmas, and I've never regretted it, but I can see where a mid- to late December birthday might be problematic. You could speak on that. I always thought the worst birthday would be Dec. 26th.

12/15 here. I fiercely resented that my sisters all got two presents per relative per year, while I'd get something 20% larger as a "combination" present.

Oh, yeah, that sucks. I might have gotten "combo" presents from my grandmother's sisters, but they were old ladies (or seemed so to me) who gave things like handkerchiefs anyway, so no big. My immediate family was always careful to have Christmas presents under the tree and birthday presents on the dining room table. I always had a birthday cake, too, no matter what other holdiay goodies were in the house.

Nowadays I'm happy because people are celebrating my birthday (or so I can imagine), and there's no focus on my age. heh
