Facebook had some irritating features. These irritations were addressed by a Firefox add-on called "feed filter" that kept FB from defaulting to a stupid setting called "TOP NEWS" which let them decide what I wanted to see. It expanded comment threads. It kept other garbage I didn't want off of my page.

Then Facebook sent them a Cease & Desist letter. I didn't know about this until I had installed their 2.0 upgrade [sic] which removed all the useful features of the add-on. I searched just now for a way to get 1.4.5 back, but can't find one.

So I'm solving the problem by quitting Facebook. I guess that means I'll be posting here more often now. I guess this also means my current games of Lexulous will never be finished. In the meantime, FB keeps all my information, just in case. Just in case I decide to come back, or just in case somebody offers them a nickel for it. I'm glad I pretty much zeroed out all that stuff weeks ago.

The WashPost put a little box where you could go to your Facebook and tell what news you liked. I asked their IT columnist, and must not have been the only one, because his next column told how to get rid of the FB box.

Glad to have you back!
